White Buffalo Turquoise Wire Wrapped Pendant Necklace
This white buffalo necklace is created from a rare, White Buffalo Turquoise cabochon which is found in only one mine worldwide, the Dry Creek Mine in Nevada. The mine is located on the Shoshone Indian Reservation near Battle Mountain. It was discovered only recently, in 1993. It is said that its name comes from Native Americans in the area, who believe that the stone "is as rare as a white buffalo." It is believed to form like "normal turquoise," with the exception of the absence of copper (which makes turquoise blue), iron (which makes it green), or zinc (which leads to yellow-green turquoise). This stone is a beautiful example of White Buffalo Turquoise.
Turquoise is one of the most powerful Metaphysical healing stones. Turquoise has been a had metaphysical healing powers before the word Metaphysical was invented. The Native American Indians, and before them the Tibetans, and before them the Egyptians were enamored by Turquoise and considered it to have great healing powers.
I've wrapped this stone with Sterling silver to best accent the stone and added an 18" Sterling silver chain.
The overall size of the pendant is approximately 2-1/2" x 1-1/4".
